Draft Cross Gelding

Mack is an 8 year old dun Draft cross gelding. “Mack” is a 1600 pound, stout draft cross gelding that everyone dreams of! If you can think of it, this horse has probably done it. Been used on the ranch his whole life, and has been a solid horse in every aspect. Not only has he made his living as a ranch horse, but also as a hunting/pack horse in the rough country during the fall. On top of all that, he has been earning a paycheck as one of my main mounts being a Rodeo pick up horse all summer at the amateur rodeos here in Colorado. The squealing bucking horses, and big lights don’t even get him to blink an eye. Mac is super soft and light in the mouth, as well as on his feet. Don’t let his size fool you, unlike most horses of his size and stature, he is very nimble and athletic. This gelding has been great around my family, and super sweet around my two-year-old daughter. He rates to the riders comfort very well. Whether you’re green and just along for the ride, or you have been in this predicament a time or two before and need a trusted mount to guarantee you can get the job done, this horse will do it all for you. Mac wears a size 5 shoe, and don’t worry you won’t need a set of stocks to shoe this one. He stands like an absolute dream. Back in the day, he was broke to a harness and used to pull a little bit but it’s been a long time. You can head and heel on this gelding. Good in the box, and not to mention this big horse can sit down and stop! There has been multiple occasions where I have had an emergency, whether it’s a prolapsed cow or a heifer calving, and I’ve had to jump on this horse cold and get to going in a hurry. Never once has he got “cinchey”, and has absolutely no buck, bite or kick. This Horse works a rope like a champ. There are very few horses I feel this comfortable around while I am stepped off tied hard and fast while trying to take care of whats in front of him. Like I’ve said before, he’s darn sure earned his place in my A string. A horse like this takes a lifetime to find. It was a really tough decision to put him in the sale, but my growing family and ambitious dreams could really benefit from seeing him go to the right home in October.
